Colombian fresh tilapia producer Aquabest receives ASC certification
Colombian tilapia producer Aquabest Seafoods has received Aquaculture Stewardship Certification (ASC) for its farm C.I. Piscicola Botero S.A located in Neiva.
Aquabest's farm was certified against the ASC's tilapia standard by Swiss certifier the Institute for Marketcology (IMO) which found the company's C.I. Piscicola Botero S.A tilapia farm fit the criteria as a sustainably run operation.
The company produces and supplies fresh tilapia mainly to the US. The ASC certification adds to Aquabest's existing Best Aquaculture Practices certificate.
