Over recent years, export of pangasius to the EU met many difficulties, therefore CL-Fish is turning to other potential markets, including Middle East, said the comp any.
This market is now CL-Fish’s largest importer and accounted for 62.5 percent of its total earnings from export in 2011. In 2012, CL-Fish sets to remain shipments to Middle East, as well as improve products’s quality to meet requirements from other luxurious markets like the U.S.
The U.S is a promising importer with strong demand, high fish prices. The company enjoyed the zero-rate duty so this year, CL-Fish focuses on increasing fish export to this destination to 40 percent of its export value.
In 2010, CL-Fish’s farming area provided only half of its demand of raw pangasius for processing. In 2012, the company plans to expand fish farms to ensure raw fish supply. Additionally, it will install new processing equipments and build more cold stores with capacity of 1,000 – 2,000 MT.
