Vietnam’s access to WTO Mr. Vo Dong
Since 1996, as a result of success in artificial breeding of Pangasius (tra, basa), cultivation of this species developed strongly in some of Mekong Delta provinces. Taking advantage of take advantage of abundant sources of raw material, the company switched to processing Pangasius for export. The company also invested in equipment and production lines, increasing processing capacity, improving product quality, focusing on opening markets and increasing seafood export value.
As a result, the company’s seafood value increased from US$ 25 million in 2000 to US$ 40 million. Its products have been sold to nearly 70 countries and territories around the world.
