Can Tho: 136.2 hectares of fish farming area owned by local processors

Some processors set up their own farms in neighbouring provinces such as Hau Giang, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre.  Owning pangasius farms helps local processors control raw fish supply and quality and reduce input costs.

By the end of October 2011, the total fish farming area of  Can Tho city is 863 hectares. In the same month, raw fish price at local tends to increase slightly.
