EU markets now account for 65 percent of the company’s pangasius export proportion, so the application of GlobalGAP for its farms is considered as “a passport” to penetrate into EU markets. In 2011, pangasius export turnover of the company is estimated to reach about US$25 - 30 million, Mr. Nguyen Van Kich - General Director of Cafatex Corp said.
At present, Cafatex Corp focuses on establishing farms which can meet requirements of strict markets. After that, the company will promote advertising strategies for its products and farms certificated by GlobalGAP. Pangasius products certificated by GlobalGAP will give favourable conditions for Cafatex Corp to overcome technical barriers and penetrate into severe markets such as EU, the U.S, Mr. Kich continued.
