(vasep.com.vn) Ca Mau province owns a total aquaculture area of 290,000 hectares, needing 15 billion of seeds annually for shrimp production.
The province targeted to build 1,200 shrimp hatcheries by 2015, ensuring 80 percent of shrimp seed demand for local farmers.
Ca Mau authority plans to implement a support program, from registration to capital, to develop shrimp seed production in the province.
Mr. Ly Van Thuan, General Secretary of Ca Mau Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors said that ensuring good quality seed for shrimp farming would improve shrimp production and export of the province.
