(vasep.com.vn) From 1st to 9th March 2013, Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers and its member companies participated in Foodex Japan 2013. The food show was held from 5th – 9th March 2013 in Makuhari Messe - International Convention Complex in Chiba (Japan). This year, there were 2,533 companies in the food and service sectors from 66 countries and territories exhibited in the show with over 3,300 booths.
VASEP had a booth of 16.5 square meters and shared the exhibition platform with other Vietnamese food exhibitors. This year, VASEP brought to Japan’s food show a range of seafood products such as breaded pangasius, frozen breaded shrimp, shrimp chips, swimming crab farci, shrimp skewers…
These products were cooked and presented to visitors to taste at the booth. Many visitors visited VASEP’s booth and wanted to know more information about Vietnam seafoods, in which breaded pangasius was the most attractive.
This year, 70 percent of visitors to Vietnamese seafood booth were Japanese and 30 percent from other countries. Vietnamese seafood exhibitors predicted a high potential of breaded pangasius products in Japanese market.
Foodex Japan is the most important event in Japanese food and beverage sector. It is organized every March and attended by a great number of international exhibitors and almost all Japanese players in food services.
This is also an occasion for Vietnamese companies to introduce their products into Japan.
