As planned, in early 2010, Ba Ria-Vung Tau authorities will send 100 fishing vessels with 1,500 fishers to operate in Indonesian waters. The provincial People’s Committee has instructed competent agencies and sectors to soon build plans, and prepare necessary procedures in compliance with legal process and regulations. The initiative aims to reduce pressure on domestic marine stocks while minimizing disputes emerged in the two countries’ overlapped sea waters. (VietfishNews)
