Aquatex Ben Tre: GlobalGAP certificate granted

With an area of 43.5ha, including one nursery, and three grow-out ponds, which provides 15,000MT of raw fish for export processing, Aquatex Ben Tre owns the largest Pangasius farming area in Asia granted GlobalGAP certificate.

Thanks to advanced aquaculture technologies according to environmentally friendly standards set by GlobalGAP which have been applied since August 2009, all Pangasius harvested as of April 2010 can be tracked and traced easily from broodstock, feed, disease preventive medicine management, environment hygiene; workers’ life and social welfares.

Aquatex Ben Tre is one of few enterprises that can hold initiative in raw Pangasius supplies for export processing, which helps it minimize input risks, well manage production costs, product quality, and timely meet production and trading requirements.

According to Vietnam Customs, from the beginning of the year to April 15, 2010, Aquatex Ben Tre exported 1,219MT of Pangasius, worth more than US$3.013 million.
