(vasep.com.vn) In October 2013, An Giang province exported 14 thousand MT of seafood, worth US$32.3 million, up 9.7 percent in volume and 12.8 percent in value over a month ago.
For the year to October 2013, seafood exports reached 140.7 thousand MT, worth US$339.3 million, up 19.9 percent in volume and 1.4 percent in value over the same period of 2012. The province has completed 90.7 percent of the yearly plan in seafood export volume and 75.2 percent in revenue.
The province’s seafood were exported directly to 83 countries, in which American market (including 15 countries like the U.S., Mexico, Brazil…) made up the largest proportion of 51 percent out of total export revenue. It is followed by Asian market (32 countries like Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong..), making up 26 percent. The next is EU market (25 countries like the U.K, Germany, Spain..) with the proportion of 17 percent. The other is Oceania market (3 countries) and African market (8 countries).
