Mr. Le Thanh Thuan, Chairman of Sao Mai – An Giang Corp said that fish oil refinery invested by International Development and Investment Corporation under Sao Mai – An Giang Corp has the area of 23,450 square meters in accordance with Desmet Balesstra technology of Belgium with the fund of over US$15 million.
With this technique, raw fish fat is refined into cosmetic, medicine, nutritious food for consumption. Its initial capacity is estimated at 100 MT per day in the first year and up to 200 MT per day since third year.
This is the largest refinery of pangasius oil in region which contributes to increase the value of products from pangasius and encourages farmers in the Mekong Delta River to develop sustainably.
The factory is expected to go into operation in the first quarter of 2012.
