Facing numerous difficulties in exporting markets, An Giang Afiex Co and some other companies in An Giang province, like An Xuyen Co., Ltd, Agifish, and Ifaco have decided to pushing up producing Pangasius products, such as Pangasius sausage, lemon grass roll, and sliced Pangasius with hundreds of metric tonnes per month for domestic consumption, distributed via supermarkets, retailers and markets throughout the country.
According to An Giang Fisheries Association (AFA), most of exporters have not paid due attention to the domestic market, and just concentrated on selling products abroad. Consumption in domestic market is not high, but when the companies can make it full use, they can reduce dependence on exporting markets, and contribute to developing Viet Nam Pangasius industry in a sustainable manner.
