(vasep.com.vn) Farmers in An Giang province are developing 315 hectares of pangasius farming area under international standards i.e. GlobalGAP, ASC.
The figure made up 48 percent of fish farming areas owned by processors and 38 percent of total fish farming superficies in the province, according to provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In the next time, the province continues to establish commercial pangasius farming areas in compliance to international standards on quality and traceability to meet demand from each importing markets.
In 2013, despite year-on-year decline in farming area and fish output, local exporters shipped 170,600 MT, worth by US$410 million, up 18 percent in volume and 3 percent in value.
