(pangasius-vietnam.com) From now

According to the company’s report, in the first half of 2011, Agifish has reached US$47.5 million of total export value. The main importers of Agifish’s seafood products were the EU, the U.S., Russia, and Latin American.

At the 2011 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Agifish launched the plan of exporting 26 thousand MT of pangasius, reaching US$70 million of export value, VND2 thousand billion of total turnover and VND80 billion of profit before tax. The meeting also approved VND300 billion to develop 30- hectare pangasius farm, to build feed mill with capacity of 60 thousand MT per year, and to receive GlobalGAP certificate for its pangasius hatchery.

To solve the problem relating to shortage of raw material, Agifish plans to invest VND80 billion in establishing pangasius farming areas of 60 hectares in Thot Not district (Can Tho province) and Thoai Son district (An Giang province). It aims to apply GlobalGAP standards for these farms, which is expected to produce around 22 thousand MT of raw fish a year.

Currently, Agifish is linked closely with 20 fish farmers in provinces of An Giang, Can Tho, Dong Thap to purchase over 70 percent of its raw material.

The company pledges to support farmers in farming process, respect payment deadline, share risks and profits in pangasius value chain.

According to Mr. Ky, Agifish’s profit before tax will soar to VND130 billion, instead of VND80 billion as predicted because it mobilizes capital from real estate, bank interest and fish inventory.
