In the first seven months of 2009 Agifish’s seafood exported to the U.S. reached 223.8MT, valued at more than US$719,134. The company’s Pangasius exports to the U.S. remained so low mainly because it was assigned very high tariff by US DOC. However, Agifish recently received a 0.52 percent tariff rate to export to the U.S., creating advantage edges for the company to boost its exports to this market. The company has resumed contact with old customers; thus, its exports to the U.S. are expected to significantly increase since August 2009.
