Vinh Long: Farmed seafood output reached 43,000MT

Aquaculture output in April was 10

 Vinh Long Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said the local aquaculture area has been on the rise since early 2010. By the end of April, there are 617 farming cages (120 cages more compared to the same period of last year, including 537 cages in operation), and 405.4ha of Pangasius farming ponds (an increase of 13.4ha over the same period last year, including 309.4ha in operation).

Aquaculture output in April was 10,990MT, bringing the total output of the first four months of the year to 42,790MT, which reached 34.1 percent of the yearly plan and increased 9,433MT year-on-year.

The figure includes 2,490MT of cages farmed products (+103MT), and 40,300MT of intensively farmed Pangasius (+ 9,330MT).
