Fish oil from pangasius now available on the market

(vasep.com.vn) Refinery of Sao Mai Group in An Giang province is the world’s first producer of fish oil made from pangasius.

At a workshop on Fish oil and Health held in HCMC, Sao Mai Group the officially launched this product under the name of Ranee. 

The refinery, worth VND 500 billion, covers the area of 4 hectare in Binh Thanh Commune, Lap Vo District in Dong Thap province. Equiped with facilities that meets FSSC standards to ensure food safety and nutritions.

It is projected that up to 2015, Ranee fish oil is produced at 100 MT/ day; then productivity will be upgraded 200 MT/ day (2015-2016) and 300 MT/day after 2016.

Annual production of fat from pangasius in Mekong Delta is at least 140,000 MT. This is used for feeds, biodiesel or exported at low prices. Meanwhile the demand for vegetable oil is growing in Vietnam. Ranee fish oil becomes a part of pangasius supply chain and to add more values to products. We proud to be a pioneer”, said Mr. Le Thanh Thuan, Chairman of Sao Mai Group.
