(vasep.com.vn) In February 2013, Hung Ca Co., Ltd was recently certified by Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) for its sustainable pangasius production in the farming area in Thanh Binh district, Dong Thap province.
Over 30 years of fish rearing, Hung Ca owns 700 hectares of fish farms, which are located in five districts in Dong Thap province, with production capacity of 125,000 MT per year. The company is currently one of the largest Vietnamese pangasius companies in Mekong Delta in terms of farming area.
To provide customers the best quality of products, Hung Ca built up closed production chain from “farm to table” in compliance with international standards like GlobalGAP, HACCP, BRC, HALAL, ISO 22000, IFS. It can assure supply of raw material for processing and strict control of the production chain.
ASC certification is considered as a driven to improve foreign pangasius consumers and importers’ awareness of positive progresses towards sustainable fish production in Vietnam. This will strengthen competitiveness of pangasius products and access to new markets.
With ASC certification, Hung Ca has moved to a higher level in its development process.
The company recently inaugurated two more processing plants of aquatic feed and fishmeal. The seafood processing plant has designed production capacity of 800 MT of finished products per day and the fish mill with 300 MT of raw material per day.
These two plants are equipped with European technologies, which are well managed to ensure the high quality of products.
