In the first 5 months of this year, Vietnam's total tuna export value reached more than $462 million, up 59% over the same period last year. In general, Vietnam's tuna exports in the first 5 months of 2022 shows clear recovery after Covid-19. Firstly, commercial activities in the global tuna market have become more attractive after more than 3 years of the pandemic; The second is the war between Russia - Ukraine has pushed the world, including two hot spots, the US and Europe, into the risk of a food crisis. Food prices have increased by 20-40% compared to the beginning of the year. In which, the price of chicken meat in the US reached a record and increased 3 times compared to the beginning of the year. Many importers are thinking about replacing with healthier and better-priced tuna protein products.
