VASEP Highlight - Jul 2022: Shrimp exports in June slowed down

June is the first month of 2022 that Vietnam's shrimp exports recorded negative growth, after continuously growing positive double digits in the previous 5 months. In June, shrimp export value decreased slightly by 1% to nearly $416 million. Accumulating 6 months, shrimp exports reached 2.3 billion USD, up 31% over the same period. The limited supply of raw shrimp in the country, low consumption demand from the US and EU markets are considered one of the reasons that led to the decline in the shrimp export results in June.
