VASEP and ASC held a workshop to discuss some content in the ASC standard
On the afternoon of June 11, 2021, the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) jointly organized a webinar "Discuss on a number of contents in the ASC Standards - Cooperation Initiative between ASC and VASEP”.
The seminar had the participation of members of VASEP's Advisory Council on Sustainability Certification (VASEP CERACO), representatives of enterprises applying ASC Standards, representatives of State management agencies of Vietnam and experts of ASC.
The workshop focused on discussing the shortcomings of the ASC Standards that are being developed or implemented, and at the same time discussed cooperation activities between the two sides to coordinate to develop, revise, supplement ASC standards in the direction of sustainable aquaculture development and in line with the actual conditions of stakeholders in the supply chain. ASC's representative highly appreciated VASEP's proactive coordination in commenting on shortcomings of ASC standards and hoped that the two sides would have more cooperation activities in the future.
