One of the important drivers for the impressive growth of Vietnam's exports in general and Ca Mau province in particular is Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). There are agreements that have recently come into effect such as: The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP); The Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVFTA)...
Since the agreements took effect, the export turnover of Ca Mau province to the member markets of the above agreements has continuously increased: the EU market in 2021 reached 135 million USD, an increase of nearly 45% compared to previous year; Ca Mau's export turnover in the first 7 months of 2022 to the UK market increased by nearly 70% over the same period.
At the seminar on disseminating the new trade agreement for officials, civil servants and businesses in the area where the International Integration Steering Committee of Ca Mau is organized, experts updated the implementation of the new trade agreements. The new generation FTAs, highlighting the effects of these agreements on economic recovery and development, are especially meaningful for localities with great seafood export potential like Ca Mau.
