(seafood.vasep.com) Statistics for the first 6 months of the year show that, for the first time in two consecutive quarters, Vietnam's seafood exports have maintained their position as Singapore's 5th largest partner. This demonstrates the important role of Vietnamese seafood in this market.

Statistics in the first half of this year show that for the first time, Vietnam’s fishery products maintained its position as the fifth largest partner in Singapore for the second consecutive quarter.

As of May 15, 2024, cumulative pangasius exports to this market reached USD 16 million, up 34% compared to the same period in 2023.

Fish cake and surimi exports decreased 11% in April compared to the same month the previous year, according to data from Vietnam Customs. Exports of this product totaled approximately $83 million in the first four months of this year, which is 12% less than the same time previous year.

Vietnam's pangasius exports to Brazil reached nearly USD 28 million in the first quarter of 2024, surging by 44% compared to the same period in 2023.

Vietnam's tuna exports value to Poland increased by 786% in comparison to the same period last year, totaling over $2 million USD and contributing about 2% of the country's overall tuna exports revenue.

Exports fell significantly (by 27%) in the first half of the year, but starting in June, the negative growth trend began to narrow. Particularly in September 2023, export sales were just 5% lower than the same period last year.

In the first 10 months of this year, cephalopod exports reached US$454.9 million, down 5% over the same period in 2019. It is estimated that the exports of Vietnamese cephalopod in 2020 will reach about US$566 million, down about 2% compared to 2019.
