VASEP's Seafood Export Report for the third quarter of 2024 provides a comprehensive overview of Vietnam's seafood export performance in the first nine months, with impressive results reaching $7.2 billion—an increase of 9% over the same period last year. In the third quarter alone, seafood exports grew by 15%, totaling $2.8 billion. This growth is attributed to a recovery in demand and prices in key markets such as the U.S. and China, as well as the competitive advantage of value-added products in markets like Japan and Australia.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In October 2024, seafood exports from Vietnam are estimated to exceed $1 billion, marking a 28% increase compared to the same period last year. This achievement signifies the first return to the $1 billion milestone in 27 months, since June 2022, providing a significant boost for Vietnamese seafood enterprises.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After a continuous decline in the second half of 2023, in the first quarter of 2024, Vietnam's seafood exports showed signs of a slight recovery with an increase of 6.5% over the same period last year, reaching nearly 2 billion USD. Exports made a strong breakthrough in January, before the Lunar New Year, but tended to slow down in February and March.

However, in the midst of difficulties, seafood enterprises have made efforts and flexibility to stabilize production, maintain supply, and take advantage of opportunities of markets to boost their sales abroad.

In which, exports of marine products reached 728 million USD, up 10%, aquaculture seafood exports reached over 1 billion USD, up 4.4% over the same period last year.
