Vietnam tuna exports continued to slow down
(vasep.com.vn) In the first 8 months of 2013, Vietnam sold its tuna to 90 markets, expanding more 10 markets over 2012. However, tuna exports at that time decreased 4.6 percent from that of the same period of 2012.
The decline was attributable to the sharp downturn in tuna exports to two main markets (the U.S. and Japan).
Despite exports of canned tuna and other processed tuna products saw a positive growth, it failed to compensate for the decline in sales of frozen/fresh tuna (HS code 03).
