U.S.: Tilapia price down 3%

In November, the average price at Customs of fresh fillets was down 3% on that of the previous month and 2% on that of November 2011. The price of the frozen presentation was up 2% on that of the previous month and down 1% on that of November 2011.

In November imports of fresh fillets reached 1,942 tonnes, worth USD 15,662,000, down 4% in volume and 6% in value on those of October but up 48% in volume and 46% in value on those of November 2011.

During the first eleven months of the year, imports totaled 18,671 tonnes and USD 151,532,000, down 3% in volume and value on those of the same period in 2011.

Imports of frozen fillets reached 15,326 tonnes, worth USD 68,675,000 CIF at Customs. These figures are up 13% in volume and 15% in value on those of previous month and up 7% in volume and 6% in value on those of November 2011. Between January and November, they totaled 152,291 tonnes and USD 700,700,000, up 31% in volume and 24% in value on those of the same period in 2011.

During the period, imports of other products (whole, H&G and gutted, HS 0303890040 and HS 0303230000, former 0303790040) totaled 32,122 tonnes, worth USD 65,429,000 CIF at Customs.
