Spanish processors continue lobbying against Thai tuna imports
Companies say EU-Thailand free trade could hurt canning sector. Spanish processing association Anfaco-Cecopesca on Wed will meet with Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment Miguel Arias Canete to press for trade restrictions on Thai tuna imports, according to finanzas.com.
The association hopes Canete will lobby the European Commission to exclude imports of Thai tuna from the EU-Thailand free trade agreement to protect the country's processing sector, calling the issue "of great importance."
