(vasep.com.vn) According to report of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, total export turnover of agro-forestry and aquatic products during the past eleven months of 2012 touched US$25 billion, up 9.9 percent compared to the same period of 2011 in which seafood exports was estimated to hit US$5.6 billion.
Among US$25 billion of farm product exports, the export value of main agricultural products in 11 months of 2012 is expected to reach US$13.6 billion, up 9.3 percent; seafood exports is planned to achieve US$5.6 billion, up 1.2 percent; key forestry commodities are expected to reach US$4.4 billion, up 17.9 percent compared to the same period of 2011.
Total export turnover of aquatic products in eleven months was US$5.59 billion. The U.S., EU and Japan continued to be three largest importers of Vietnam seafood.
Four commodities with export turnover of over US$3 billion are aquatic products (US$6.1 billion); wood, timber and forestry products (US$4.1 billion), rice (US$3.7 billion) and rubber (US$3.3 billion). In 2012, these four commodities remained their good performance and accounted for over a half of the country’s export revenue of farm products.
