During the month, imports reported 1,706 tonnes of frozen bluefin, worth JPY 2,623 million at Japan Customs, down 61% in volume and value on those of the previous month and up 21% and 10% in volume and value respectively on those of October 2012.
Between January and October, imports registered 9,339 tonnes and JPY 14,806 million, up 27% in volume and 6% in value on those of the same period in 2012.
Mexico was the main supplier of bluefin with 1,091 tonnes. Australia exported 6,769 tonnes of southern bluefin to Japan, worth JPY 10,336 million.
