The preliminary results of antidumping duty administrative review on certain warm water shrimp from Vietnam in the period of 1st February 2011 to 31st January 2012 (POR7) was published recently by Department of Commerce (DOC) of the U.S DOC has determined that sales by the Minh Phu Group, Nha Trang Seafoods, two mandatory respondents and Quoc Viet, the voluntary respondent have not been made below normal value. Other separate rate companies also got zero average dumping margin.
This is the first time all Vietnamese companies in the duty review are recognized not to dump in shrimp sales to the market.
In 2012, the U.S is the second largest importers of Vietnam shrimp following Japan. Shrimp exports to the market reached US$454.5 million, making up 20 percent of the total shrimp sales of Vietnam.
In January 2013, the U.S became the biggest consumer of Vietnam shrimp with the growth rate of 36.9 percent over the same month of 2012.
