Norway salmon exports continue upward trend
(seafoodsource) Norwegian salmon prices are still on the rise, reaching NOK 21.1 (EUR 2.86; USD 3.61) per kilogram during the week of 27 August to 2 September, Statistics Norway reported on Wednesday.
That’s the highest total so far this year and up 5.2 percent for fresh salmon and from the previous week. However, prices for frozen salmon dropped to NOK 29.08 per kg compared to NOK 30.55 (EUR 4.15; USD 5.23) for the week of 20 to 26 August.
As far as volume, Norway exported 16,542 metric tons (MT) of fresh salmon compared to 15,533 MT during the previous week. Frozen salmon export volumes were also down to 756 MT, compared to 840 MT the previous week.
