The average CIF prices at Customs of Japanese imports of itoyori surimi in August was JPY 249/kg, down 2% on that of the previous month and up 1% on that of August 2011. In the first eight months, the average has been JPY 253, up 2% on that of the same period in 2011.

The Japanese imports of itoyorí surimi in August reported 3,122 tonnes, worth about JPY 778 million CIF, down 37% in volume and 38% in value on those of July and down 4% and 3% respectively on those of August 2011.
India was the main supplier of itoyorí surimi in the period. Sales amounted to 13,609 tonnes, worth about JPY 3,424 million CIF, up 45% in volume and 56% in value on those of the same period in 2011. Thailand supplied 11,056 tonnes, down 24% in volume on those registered in 2011.
