(vasep.com.vn) Japanese enterprises can consume all tuna catch from Vietnam if Vietnamese tunas are well-processed and well-preserved and satisfied with Japan’s requirements.
Specifically, Japan can buy about 20,000 MT of tuna per year which are caught by fishermen of three provinces (Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa).
Japan is also interested in hiring Vietnamese labourers for working in the country fishery. Employees will be trained in how to harvest, process and preserve fish products.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Dinh province are developing plans to send workers to Japan, majoring in tuna processing and preservation with an aim to improving the quality and export value of Vietnamese tuna.
