Tuna port and auction market are built on an area of over 6 hectares with investment of the World Bank (WB).
Phu Yen Province People's Committee has approved the plan proposed by the provincial DARD on the location of the port and auction market in block 6, Phu Dong Ward, Tuy Hoa city.
The land construction area of over 6 hectares, including Dong Tac area existing fishing ports and the whole area of Enterprise Shipbuilding Corporation Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry. Currently DARD Phu Yen province is implementing the next steps for the project to start construction soon.
Nguyen Tri Phuong, Deputy Director of DARD of Phu Yen province, said the current logistics in fishing ports have not yet met the standards of an auction market, particularly for ocean tuna. The construction plan will create opportunities for local people improve the efficiency of tuna fishing and trading.
