Chilean mussel export volumes and values have improved in 2013 compared to year ago levels according to recent data from InfoTrade.
Through February, Chile has exported 10,277 tons of mussels this year compared to 7,407 the same time a year prior; a 38% increase.
The exported value of the 2013 haul is US$29.6 million, a 60% increase compared the $18.4 million the exports totaled in 2012.
Meanwhile, the average per kilogram price has also risen from $2.49/kg in 2012 to $2.88/kg in 2013, a 15% increase year-over-year.
