Whiteleg shrimp dominates Vietnamese shrimp industry
(vasep.com.vn) Whiteleg shrimp was still the main export item of Vietnam in QI/2015, despite its 29.3% year-on-year reduction in export value.
Accounting for almost 60% in the total of Vietnam's shrimp exports, whiteleg shrimp export valued US$ 340 million. Black tiger shrimp exports meanwhile dropped by 31.6% to US$ 178.1 million.
Black tiger shrimp was mostly exported in form of frozen raw while whiteleg shrimp was exported as processed and value-added products.
