Besides, this year Vietnam shrimp exporters are facing crucial competition from Indian companies because of its higher production of black tiger shrimp. In this situation, Vina Cleanfood decided to change its export structure by strengthening export of black tiger shrimp value-added products and increasing proportion of whiteleg shrimp to 80 percent in the company’ exports.
After only one year operation in the seafood sector, Vina Cleanfood became a young company gaining effective business in Mekong Delta. To the end of November, the firm has shipped abroad nearly 4,500 MT of finished shrimp, worth US$42 million. Japan market represented almost 60 percent of total revenue, followed by the EU with 25 percent. In first ten month of 2011, Vina Cleanfood ranked the 16th in the top biggest shrimp exporters in Vietnam.
