(vasep.com.vn) On June 12th 2013, General Department of Vietnam Customs signed a cooperation agreement with VASEP in order to create favorable conditions for the production and sales of the business community, implementing the principle of co-management to support enterprises to boost exports, imports and increase value of goods.
The contents of the cooperation between the two agencies, including coordination of data collection, reflecting fast information, opinions and comments of seafood exporters and importers with the customs authorities; The two agencies also coordinate the implementation of supporting enterprises to perform e-customs procedures and preferred business applications. Two sides are also in charge of assessing the compliance of enterprises with the law on customs.
The two agencies are jointly responsible for building evaluation criteria, procedures and security requirements on the production line to help enterprises meet the import and export conditions and create their prestige in international enterprise community and other countries’ Customs.
One of important tasks of the agreement is that VASEP will cooperate with Customs in providing information under the provisions of law on the basis of facilitating enterprises; comparing and collating statistics on seafood exports and imports to countries/territories, international and regional organizations, operating in the fishery sector, when there is a difference in the data under different sources. This will support VASEP and seafood enterprises in anti-dumping lawsuits, Mr. Tran Thien Hai, Chairman of VASEP said.
