(vasep.com.vn) In 2012, the world is on the way out of economic crisis and consumers continue to spend more for food. This is a good chance for Vietnam seafood in global market, according to Utxi Aquatic Product Processing Corporation (Utxico).
Utxico hopes that in 2012, international markets will show more sign of recovery and facilitate the company’s seafood export operation. This year, it sets target to reach US$85 million of export and VND100 billion of domestic sales and earnings from other sources.
In 2011, Utxico developed its Hoang Phuong processing factory to boost production of value-added products. It also kept upgrading processing equipments and completing production chain in Hoang Phuong and Hoang Phong factories. This was to increase production and meet product quality requirements.
In 2012, the firm plans to intensify sales in domestic market when seeing great potential here. Besides traditional markets like Japan, the EU and Australia, it is turning seafood shipments to China and other new destinations in Eastern Europe, Asia and the Arab world. More export of shrimp to the U.S. is also Utxico’s main priority in 2012. It will cooperate with T&T Company to supply shrimp products to U.S. supermarkets and restaurants chain.
