Nearly 200 hectares of shrimp farms will be farmed in accordance with GAP standards, Mr. Tieu Cam Chau, General Director of Utxi Aquatic Products Processing Company based in Soc Trang province said.
According to the project, the company will support farmers fries, techniques, feed, necessary information and capital. The project is a part of its plan of developing sustainable shrimp faming areas to improve its product quality.
Mr Chau said that black tiger shrimp is still the main farmed species of the company. However, in the near future, Utxi will develop vannamei shrimp farming which is waiting for a detailed planning by provincial authorities to diversify its exported products.
