The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has decided to cancel the anti-dumping lawsuit on Vietnamese shrimp exports to the US market.
Four of the six-member commission vetoed the lawsuit while two were in favour. Accordingly, Vietnamese shrimp exports to the US will not be levied tax by the US Department of Commerce (DOC).
According to the decision, shrimp exports from India, Malaysia, China and Ecuador will also be exempt from anti-dumping duty to the US market.
DOC also announced on September 10 that Vietnamese frozen shrimp exports to the US from February 2011 to January 2012 did not indulge in dumping and 33 Vietnamese shrimp exporters enjoyed zero percent tax and refunded the taxes they paid earlier.
