(vasep.com.vn) In the first eight months of 2013, Trong Nhan Seafood Co., Ltd exported 1,240 MT of shrimp of all products and varieties to earn US$11.6 million, up 10 percent against the compatible period of 2012.
The EU, Japan, South Korea are the key markets of the Ca Mau-based firm. In which, the EU accounted for 60 percent of proportion in terms of value.
Shrimp sent to South Korea are chiefly value-added products like nobashi and butterfly sushi shrimp.
Currently, local shrimp ponds have been in full swing harvest; therefore, the company is focusing on pre-processed shrimp to supply European markets.
European demands for imported shrimp have been recovered since July 2013 and are predicted to remain until November. In the four coming months of 2013, Trong Nhan Seafood targets to reach US$14 million of shrimp sales abroad.
