(vasep.com.vn) Since the early 2014, the shrimp price has stayed on high levels and continued to rise in the week from 17-23 Feb 2014.
In Ca Mau province, the price of black tiger shrimp count 20 pieces/kg increased by VND10,000 to VND310,000/kg on Feb 23. The price of black tiger shrimp sized 30 – 40 pieces/kg was on the range of VND225,000 – 245,000/kg. These high prices fetch large profit to farmers.
At the same time, in domestic as well as foreign markets, the price of whiteleg shrimp continued to surge. Whiteleg shrimp count 100 pieces/kg in the provinces of Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Ben Tre was quoted at VND113,000 – 115,000; VND1,000 higher than that of the previous week. The whiteleg shrimp count 60 – 70 pieces/kg fluctuated from VND143,000 to VND150,000/kg.
