Seaprodex Factory No16: Stable export of shrimp to South Korea, Egypt
(VASEPNews) In the first seven months of 2012, exported shrimp to some European countries saw lower price than that in the same period last year, said Banh Quang Ha, Director of Quy Nhon Frozen Seafood Joint Stock Company (Seaprodex F16). To keep foreign partners, Seaprodex No16 kept sending products to this region. Besides, it strengthened shrimp shipments to Egypt and some Asian markets.
In January – July 2012, Seaprodex F16 reached US$4.5 million of export earnings, a rise of 20 percent from the same period of 2011. So far, whiteleg shrimp products represented 90 percent of the company export structure.
In 2012, demand for shrimp in many markets fell to low level, causing slow down or even drop in export price of Vietnam shrimp. However, the company still ensured stable exports to South Korea and Egypt. South Korea is the biggest importer and occupied 40 percent of Seaprodex F16’s total export revenue.
In purpose to complete processing contract and keep jobs for workers, F16 is trying to develop its purchasing system, particularly in central provinces, to buy high quality shrimp for export.
