Seaprodex Factory No.16: Export value increased 150 percent in Q1

Mr. Banh Quang Ha, Director of Seaprodex Factory No.16 (F16), said in the first three months of 2010 instead of marine products (marine fish, squid, octopus, etc.) the company shifted to processing shrimp products, especially frozen shrimp, due to unstable materials supply.

Mr. Ha added in Q1/2010, F16 shipped 16MT of frozen shrimp, worth US$1.3 million, up 150 percent in value compared with the same period last year.

Currently, F16 keeps on exporting shrimp to South Korea, New Zealand, and the Philippines, among them South Korea is the largest importer.
