Since early 2011, F16 turned to process whiteleg shrimp for export, instead of marine fish items, as it could not assure supply of wild-caught fish. In first ten months of the year, South Korea and Japan were two main destinations of F16’s whiteleg shrimp products, representing 60 percent of total export revenue. F16 traded also this item in the U.S., the EU and the Philippines.
Until the end of October, the firm reached a rise of 10 percent in whiteleg shrimp export volume, bringing total revenue of VND150 billion.
Though marine fish processors in Quy Nhon were grappling with raw material shortage, fluctuated prices, low demand and delayed payment as result of financial difficulties in many foreign markets, Seaprodex Factory – F16 still remained in the list of seafood companies having effective operation by changing its export structure.
