Seanamico: 3.84 percent increase in export in Q1/2010

 In Q1/2010, Seanamico purchased and processed 773MT of frozen shrimp. It exported 527MT shrimp worth of US$5.717 million, equivalent to 18.45 percent of the yearly planned and up 3.84 percent over the same period last year.

This year there is a bumper crop of shrimp in Nam Can district, Ca Mau province. By the end of March, local farmers harvested 3,998MT of shrimp, equivalent to 17.8 percent of the planned and up 27.8 percent over the same crop last year. This is an important factor for Seanamico’s processing activities given the limited local materials supply.
