Quoc Viet Co. Ltd said it exported
Quoc Viet Co., Ltd said it exported 1,022 tons of black shrimps, totaling USD10.773 million to European Union, Australia, and some Asian countries in May. From January to May, the company sold 2,797 tons of black shrimp, valued USD28.073 million.
However, seafood experts predicted that local supply of raw material might not meet the production demand in June, so that Quoc Viet and many other seafood processors will be in difficulties due to a shortage of input materials.
Mr.Ngo Van Nga, director general of the company, said this June Quoc Viet will not develop new products from whiteleg shrimp but will keep on black tiger shrimp as key export item. He also expressed his hope that Quoc Viet will be exempted from import tax for material shrimp in order to widen business and create more jobs for local people.
Quoc Viet is a Vietnam’s leading supplier of shrimp products to Japan, Australia, Europe, Canada, Korea (Code: DL 200) and many countries since 1996. Currently, it processes and exports more than 10,000MT per year.
