Procimex majoring in tuna products

Mr.Nguyen Diem General Director of

Procimex Vietnam Joint Stock Company said it has shifted to processing various types of products from tuna instead of squid and cuttlefish and octopus from the beginning of this year.

Mr.Nguyen Diem, General  Director of Procimex, said in first nine months of 2008 his company has completed the plan on seafood export value for the year. In September alone it exported 1,400 tons of tuna, valued USD6.5 million to Japan, United States, European Union and South America.

Demand for products from tuna increase by the end of the year, but Procimex is running short of raw material, it could not have enough inputs for production. Currently, the company operates at half of it designed capacity.

The state media explained recent shortage of raw seafood material as fishing boats quit running offshore due to hiking fuel price.

Procimex is a newly-established company in 2005, specializing in import-export mining products, construction material exploitation, oil and gas selling, in-land and out-land logistic business. The company’s headquarter is located in Hai Phong northern province of Vietnam.
