Phu Minh Hung Seafood Jostoco: Total export turnover increased by 10 percent

In 2010 total export turnover of

At the same time, farmed whiteleg shrimp production in the North was not so much while the price of fresh shrimp for big cities in northern areas as well as restaurants and hotels in Quang Ninh was so high that made seafood processing plants here unable to compete to purchase.

Against this situation, enterprises had to purchase raw materials in Quang Tri, Hue, Quang Ngai, etc; however, whiteleg shrimp price in these provinces was very high.

To reduce its dependence on raw material stemming from other provinces, in 2011, Phu Minh Hung has invested in the renovation of 110 whiteleg shrimp farming ponds, equivalently to 33 ha in Quang Ninh to supply shrimp more often for factories. Besides, early 2011, the company actively seeks and negotiates with its partners to create a stable raw material source.

With the maintained export turnover of 70 percent to Japan and stable export to traditional markets such as South Korea, Australia, EU and the U.S., the company said its seafood export in 2011 will be more positive with abundant raw materials.
